Dr. Detron Brown was raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Med Chemistry and Applied Mathematics at Norfolk State University and his Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C and completed his pharmacy practice residency with Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, MD.
He is currently a clinical pharmacist at The University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia with an emphasis in post-surgical/trauma care. Dr. Brown enjoys spending time doing charity work with young African American boys during which he puts his focus on encouraging and developing their interest in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. In addition to his work in the profession of pharmacy, he works in helping at-risk communities with emergency preparedness.
